Dear families,
We hope this email finds you well. We are sending this email to bring your attention to the next courses that we have designed for our students. As we are all aware, complex issues surround us and our children. We believe that it is important for our students to gain the tools to navigate these issues as they grow. In a rapidly globalizing world, it is our responsibility to use the unique powers of music to educate and empower our students to be prepared to tackle their world. We don’t pretend to have the answers, but rather want to give our students the courage to pursue them.
Below are some of the courses that we are offering this coming semester to empower students to be collaborative, see through the eyes of others for empathy, and become critical thinkers. In short, below are some tools to create agents of change.
Songwriting for Elementary Students
The Second Grade Composers Symposium
Music Theory: See One, Hear One, Do One
Rhythm and Beats: A First Grade Music Class
Tackling Middle School through Music
Whether your students are younger or older, whether they are directly or indirectly affected by the global shift in education, the Black Lives Matter movement, COVID-19, the Me Too movement, or the current election cycle, we hope to provide solace and the tools for a solution for our community.
With every hope for the future,
The Team at Berklee
